10 months and July 4th weekend...

Double digits! Harper is getting close to being a year old. She has a sweet but fiesty little personality these days. She wants what she wants when she wants it... or else! She is now able to crawl... backwards... she will crawl backwards until she raises up to a sitting position. She is really starting to pull up and cruise around the furniture more too. Her favorite toys aren't toys... she loves kitchen utensils, pots & pans, remote controls, cordless phones and cameras. Her favorite "baby food" is Pear & Pineapple, favorite "real food" is a plain baked potato. She's consistently been sleeping through the night, at 10 hours minimum without a peep. She'll wake then to nurse and go back to sleep for another hour or two. Nap time has been not so great lately since she has learned how to get to a sitting position from laying down. She keeps herself awake doing this. We've battled it out a few times and sometimes I will let her sleep in her swing. We're still working through it. We've gotten her on video saying "daddy", "book" and "bye bye" all on command. She says "da-da/da-dee" ALL the time.

We celebrated the 4th of July with some family time at the lake. We did lots of relaxing, playing, swimming, cooking and eating. Harper loved playing on the carpet at the lake house. It's the thickest most plush carpet ever... not exactly what you'd pick for a new house but is so "lake-ish". It really is so comfy you could just lay on it and take a nap. She really worked on her crawling there, and had pretty much perfected the army crawl because the carpet was perfect to dig those little toes into. Most of the pics I got were of her on that carpet!
